Security, speed, compliance, and flexibility–all of these describe LightTPD which is rapidly redefining efficiency of a webserver; as it is designed and optimized for high performance environments. With a small memory footprint compared to other web-servers, effective management of the cpu-load, and advanced feature set (FastCGI, CGI, Auth, Output-Compression, URL-Rewriting and many more) LightTPD is the perfect solution for every server that is suffering load problems. And best of all it’s Open Source licensed under the revised BSD license.

Ghost image of a bootable MiniPE USB Key!!! Just ghost your USB flash drive with this image, and you will have a bootable USB memory key that boots into MiniPE. This image was built from the MiniPE boot CD, and it has all the same features! USB 2.0 keys boot and run MiniPE, BartPE, and WinPE much faster than their boot CD counterparts, and they are EDITABLE!! No more burning a new CD when you have to add a driver or an application!

As a system administrator, I have used OpenSSH’s piping abilities more times than I can remember. The typical ssh call gets me access to systems for administration with a proven identity, but ssh is capable of so much more. In combination with bash’s subshell invocation, OpenSSH can distribute the heavy work, reduce trace interference on a system under test, and make other “impossible” tasks possible. I’ve even used it to make Microsoft Windows remote administration easier.

XMLHTTP was first introduced to the world as an ActiveX control in Internet Explorer 5.0. Over time, this object has been implemented by other browsing platforms, and is the cornerstone of “AJAX” web applications. The object allows web pages to send and receive XML (or other data) via the HTTP protocol. XMLHTTP makes it possible to create responsive web applications that do not require redownloading the entire page to display new data. Popular examples of AJAX applications include the Beta version of Windows Live Local, Microsoft Outlook Web Access, and Google’s GMail.

How tough is it to really compromise a system? As an ethical hacking instructor, that is a question that I get asked quite frequently. My usual response to this type of question is to encourage the questioner to try to compromise a system, which they own, to find out the time and skill necessary to compromise a system.
